The Lovely Bones

"How many of you have read this book and what are your favourite parts?
Any interesting questions or things to ponder from it?
I really enjoyed the description of Susie Salmon's heaven and the way the writer shows how one action/event can affect so many people.
Looking forward to the film though not expecting it to be as good as the book; hope it's not a huge disappointment." --Sam Rich

  1. I love this book! It's beautifully written, very evocative in its description of a grieving family. I like how she places the normal everyday things against the massive backdrop of eternity: "We didn't speak anymore that night but we danced for hours in that timeless blue light".
Another of my favourite parts is when the smallest child holds his grieving father, although I can't remember where it comes, it's very beautifully written.
I wasn't entirely convinced by the ending though. How did everyone else feel about that?
